Grasmere Lodge is located near central Gateshead and provides residential care for adults with mental health disorders and learning disabilities, including challenging behaviour. Up to twenty adults can be accommodated, either male or female. Grasmere Lodge is able to offer a caring service to people with high support needs. This includes tailored support packages to assist with activities of daily living and social inclusion.

The accommodation at Grasmere Lodge consists of eighteen bedrooms, two of which may be used as twin rooms if required. Three of the bedrooms have ensuite facilities and all the rooms have access to separate bathroom and toilet facilities. There is a pleasant quiet lounge area, a separate smoking lounge, a large comfortable dining area, a communal kitchen and separate laundry facilities. Outside the home there is a large front patio with seating and a rear yard.

Due to the layout of the property, there are no accessible rooms at Grasmere Lodge for people with mobility issues.

Residents are cared for using a person centred approach. Their wellbeing and interests are at the forefront of our philosophy of care. We personalise our services specifically to service user needs. This is achieved by working closely with the individual, their family, carers and professionals to ensure that the individual’s needs are met. 

Residents at Grasmere Lodge are supported by a committed staff team. The home has a Registered Manager, Team Leader and Support Workers. All staff are adequately trained and fully qualified to fulfil their role within the home.

Gateshead Metro Interchange is in walking distance where regular transport to local cities, towns, shopping centres and the coast is available.
